Meet-A-Mom of 3 girls, and Nurse at Birmingham’s DripIV- Cristina Barbu! | Birmingham Bloomfield Hills Moms

How many children do you have and what are their names and ages?

Evia is my oldest, she’s very caring and bright 11 year old, loves basketball and plays travel basketball with Pistons Elite after school.

Vera is eight years old, super sweet, a bit bossy and very attentive to detail. She loves spending time with family.

Rose is our youngest, she’s three. Spunky, adorable and so much fun. She loves dinosaurs…a lot!

Where do your children go to school?

Currently the oldest two are at Quarton Elementary in Birmingham. Evia is excited for her 5th grade graduation and Vera is enjoying being back in class in 2nd grade.
Rose is still home, though she has learned many letters and can count to 15! We are planning to have her attend a Christian preschool program, as her oldest sisters did.

What made you decide to raise a family in this area?

We moved to the Crestview neighborhood in Birmingham 10 years ago from the Ann Arbor area, so my husband could be closer to a business venture he was involved with at the time. While renting for a year, we fell in love with all the beautiful parks and convenient and unique amenities so much, that we purchased our current home in Bloomfield Hills. Being part of a diverse and top rated school system is very important to us as well. After 10 years we are very happy with our decision to put down roots in Bloomfield.

What are your favorite things to do with your kids in the area?

You will find us frequently walking in the downtown, grabbing some pizza from Brooklyn – Evia’s favorite is the Greek, and then going to Shain Park. Our kids always have a blast at Booth Park, which they call “Cardboard Park” since they love sliding down the hill there!

What are your favorite date night spots in the area?

Cafe ML, Phoenicia, Streetside, Adachi, and Madam at the Daxton to name a few. For something quick, you can’t go wrong with Commonwealth, Eli Tea, or Cannelle!

What do you do to balance your own life and motherhood? What do you do for “me” time?

Doing something you love and making time for your own needs are a very important part of motherhood. You have to fill your own cup first before you pour into somebody else’s. I like getting out into nature and clearing my head on a daily basis, exercising, and having a conversation with adults every now and then also helps 🙂 Oh, and how can I forget to mention, many cups of really good coffee!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

I honestly can’t think of a better person than my husband, he’s been my rock and we’ve been balancing everything on our own since day one. He’s supportive and encouraging and knows what I need. It’s a learning process that improves with experience and balancing our own individual needs. Communication on all levels, including with the children, is very important for the happiness of the entire home.

Tell us about DripIV! What does it offer and what are the benefits?

Vitamin therapy for those of us who are constantly moving at 110% while trying to find a healthy balance between work and play. We often neglect our body’s basic nutritional needs and can find ourselves tired and dehydrated.

Intravenous (IV) Nutrient Therapy delivers superior and potent doses of nutrients that completely bypass the gastrointestinal system. You’ll feel better faster and absorb more nutrients when compared to oral supplementation. IV Nutrient Therapy can be used in two ways – to proactively maintain optimum health and wellness, or to address acute and chronic conditions.

I’ve been into the holistic and alternative measures after suffering an injury from overuse of my joints. Vitamins and minerals are two of the main types of nutrients that your body needs to survive and stay healthy. So, I am a strong advocate, based on my own experience, of the benefits of IV Nutrition Therapy.

How did you start working at DripIV?

I started working at Drip in October 2019 after being on leave from Beaumont as a Registered Nurse following the birth of my last two daughters. The moment I came across the opportunity at Drip IV, I knew that this was exactly what I wanted to do. It just made sense since I love caring for people, offering advice to better health and wellness, and helping our clients live a happy life. The relaxing, calming, and spa environment centrally located in Birmingham can’t be beat either!

Is there anything else you would like to tell our followers?

The past year has been challenging on so many levels, but in every difficult situation there is also a silver lining. As a mother, I have learned to cherish the simple things in life more, to slow down and enjoy every aspect of the journey, and to always pay it forward as much as possible. I am grateful to be able to show my daughters that providing care to others is truly one of the most rewarding things in life.
