Rajeshri Gandhi Bhatia, Founder of Blooming Brains Academy, has a deep history of ensuring our future leaders get the education they need today. With over 25 years of experience teaching students at all grade levels, leading and starting schools, coaching and developing staff, and reforming educational organizations, Rajeshri has built a strong reputation within the national and international educational arena and has been highly sought after as a thought leader.
A graduate of Detroit Country Day School, she later taught and coached there after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The University of Michigan. After earning a Master’s Degree in School Leadership with Principal Certification from Harvard University, she began her career in school leadership, helping to start schools and lead schools across the country. She has led schools that serve students from preschool through high school and served as the academic lead for a prestigious high school in California, where she oversaw the academic and college application process. After returning to Michigan, she started her company School Smarts and has been serving as an educational consultant to schools across the region, developing leaders, recruiting and supporting teachers, streamlining operations, and helping others start schools. Rajeshri is often called upon to share guidance on educational strategies including being asked to serve the State of Michigan by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
A well-known educational leader in Michigan, Rajeshri is taking everything that she has learned throughout her career and bringing it to the children and families of Metro Detroit with the launch of her newest endeavor, Blooming Brains Academy, a Montessori school located at the border of West Bloomfield and Keego Harbor. Blooming Brains Academy will serve infants through 5th-grade students, utilizing the renowned Montessori approach to education which has been shown to help children develop skills, leadership, and independence.
Designed to help high-potential students, Montessori education has inspired several well-known leaders who are at the highest levels of their respective fields because it gives children an advanced start in forming critical leadership skills such as decision making, social interactions as well as academic needs including reading and math. I have also seen the educational progress of students from infancy through adulthood and what works to create a successful, balanced and capable leader. I imagine students from the crib to them walking across the stage at graduation and want to ensure that each one has a plethora of opportunities from which to choose their future path. We need to help children develop skills, talents, and leadership. I am taking the best parts of everything I have experienced and building a school that incorporates all of those aspects and also puts families first.”
