Origin Pediatrics provide primary care pediatric services in a unique model of care. Dr. O’Dell’s clinic is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) which is like concierge medicine except more affordable. Families join the practice as members and pay either monthly or annual for access to Origin Pediatric services. Origin Pediatrics is the only practice in the area offering this model of care with all these benefits.

Dr. O’Dell started his practice after seeing all the problems with healthcare both in the hospital and in private practice. He realized a lot of issues with primary care revolved around insurance-based healthcare and he wanted to offer something different to families in our area. He wanted to help with the longer wait times, be easily accessible for his families, and wanted to truly alleviate most of the issues that you face in a typical medical practice. That’s when Origin Pediatrics was born. He always tells his families that he works directly for them without worrying about input from insurance companies or hospital administrators. That’s a plus.

Origin Pediatrics focus on more preventative and lifestyle medicine than a regular practice. You can expect in-depth and very knowledgeable conversations about a healthy lifestyle and clean products to keep your kids healthy and safe. When health issues are identified, he’ll focus on figuring out the root cause and treating that, rather than just treating symptoms alone which can lead to more chronic health problems.

Dr. O’Dell was born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, but has been a Michigan man since attending the University of Michigan for undergrad. (Go Blue!) He earned his Master of Public Health degree from Boston University and then attended medical school at the University of Toledo and lastly completed his pediatric residency training at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. When he’s not taking care of our kids, he loves spending time with his wife Diana of 6 years, reading, exercising, playing tennis, golf and pickleball. (Who doesn’t love pickle ball!)
