Meet-a-Mom, Adriana Diamond of Experience Detroit

Hi! My name is Adriana Diamond. My husband is Tim Diamond and our kids are Leo, Serena, Benji and Tommy. I was born and raised in Ecuador.  My husband Tim and I met in Ecuador thanks to Tinder while he was learning Spanish and running his software company there with his best friend David (ecuadorian) who he met at U of M. Being a mom of 4 is crazy but  I LOVE IT because I was 1 of 4 (3 girls 1 boy) and there is NOTHING like having many siblings.

You started Experiences Detroit, with Crispell’s. What inspired you to start Experiences Detroit?
Well, I have planned events my whole life and what better to do it at the place where they make the best pizza in the world and is also a place close to my heart whos founder is special to us. I have been cultivating this idea slowly by running a small book club with my friends (@thebirminghambookclub). However, when I  left to Ecuador for the entire summer I fell in love with my best friend Carolina’s business there which is violeta flowers . Violeta flowers is a place where you can shop flower arrangements, join flower workshops and also other types of workshops such as watercolor, painting, ceramics, etc and thought on bringing the idea here. I guess, it was a mixed of being homesick and wanted to bring a little bit of Ecuador to Michigan.

What types of events can people host through Experience Detroit?
A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G ! If you dream it, we can make it happen. You can either attend our events and buy tickets OR you can say: Hey Adriana, I want to organize my 35 year old birthday party with 20-30 friends and do a special cocktail class + pizza, or trivia night, or bingo, or charcuterie board workshop or painting workshop etc and we can do it for you!!!

What do you hope Experiences Detroit will bring to the community?

It will bring a sense of community. this can be a place where people meet and share a passion or two in common: Pizza & FUN!

Also, it will make you feel you belong somewhere as if you join experiences Detroit VIP room, for $100 a year, you get to attend ANY 2 events we organize (subject to availability of course) but You get to pick ANY you like. Also, you get 20% of your 1st own private event.

What events can we look forward to in the next coming months?

10/29 – Spooky watercolor workshop + dinner (Pizza, Pasta, Salad, and soft drinks) 6-9pm
11/14 – Fall flower workshop (Pizza, Pasta, Salad, dessert and soft drinks) – 6 – 9 pm
11/15 – Fall watercolor workshop kids and parents – TBC – Perhaps we can do here what we spoke about?
12/3 – Sip-Shop-Learn Holiday Event –  (Pizza, Pasta, Salad, dessert and soft drinks) – 6-9 pm (for this event we will have around 5 vendors that will come and set up in the patio)
12/4 – Holiday cookie party + dinner (Pizza, Salad and soft drinks) – 6-9 pm
12/8 – Holiday cookie party + dinner (Pizza, Salad and soft drinks) – 3-6 pm

Tells us a fun fact about you.
I was in a reality show in Ecuador when I was 22 and was also in a beauty pageant and while I didn’t win the crown at least I won miss congeniality (where is Sandra Bullock?)  HAHA!

What are you most looking forward to this fall with your family?
For them to help me grow this new family business.
