Infertility isn’t something we talk about enough, but the truth is it affects 1 in 6 couples. As moms, friends, and women, we all know someone quietly walking that road, even if they haven’t said it out loud. It can feel isolating, overwhelming, and often, incredibly expensive.
That’s why I want to share an amazing resource right here in our own community: the Jewish Fertility Foundation (JFF). Their whole mission is to take away some of the stigma around infertility and wrap families with the support they need financially, emotionally, and mentally. And here’s the best part: you don’t have to be Jewish to access JFF Detroit’s support.
What JFF Does
Here’s what makes them so special:
Financial Help
-
IVF and IUI grants to help cover treatment costs
-
Partnerships with local fertility clinics (some offer up to 20% off when you’re using a JFF grant)
Emotional Support
-
Free monthly virtual support groups, led by a licensed therapist who specializes in infertility (open to all women in Metro-Detroit)
-
Fertility Buddy Program – one of my favorite things they do! They pair women currently on the journey with someone who’s been through it before. Because sometimes, just talking to someone who “gets it” makes all the difference.
Community Connection
-
Events that let women and couples take a breath, connect, and not feel so alone.
-
Past event: Create & Relate, a canvas-painting night to relax and recharge
-
Coming up:
-
Acupuncture Social – Sept 10th (learn about acupuncture + infertility and see a live demo)
-
Virtual Support Group – Sept 17th at 7:15pm
-
Pathways to Parenthood – Nov 20th (a panel of speakers covering all kinds of family-building paths: fertility treatments, adoption, surrogacy, egg donation, and more)
-
The Impact Here in Detroit

Why It Matters to Us Moms
Infertility is happening right here in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, and across Metro-Detroit. These aren’t just numbers—these are families in our schools, in our neighborhoods, maybe even sitting next to you at soccer practice.
And JFF is there for all of them. Jewish or not.

Voices from the Community
💬 “It was truly refreshing to be supported by others who are also navigating the challenges of infertility. The group offered a warm, non-judgmental environment filled with positivity and uplifting advice that helped us all feel stronger together.” – Support Group Attendee
💬 “After years of unsuccessfully trying to grow our family, we looked into IVF and we feel so fortunate to have found The Jewish Fertility Foundation. We were lucky enough to receive a grant to assist us. The process of IVF is not an easy one and to have the financial burdens lightened was such a relief. On top of that, having a community to lean on during a stressful and emotional time is priceless.” – Grant Recipient
