Meet Hannah Crane from the Phillips Clinic - Birmingham Bloomfield Hills Moms

Hannah is a local Birmingham mom of two who’s passionate about creating meaningful memories and traditions with her girls. She’s learned that motherhood isn’t about perfection—it’s about support, structure, and grace. Her approach to parenting and her work as a therapist are rooted in presence and purpose. Can you tell us a bit about you—how many kids do you have, and what’s your favorite part of motherhood?

I was born and raised in Birmingham and have always had a strong desire to raise a family here. My husband and I have two daughters, ages 5 and 7. My favorite part of motherhood is creating meaningful memories and family traditions that our girls will carry with them—and sharing in all the little moments that make life feel special.

What are some mom hacks or routines that help you juggle parenthood + your work as a therapist?

Honestly, the biggest “hack” I’ve learned is to ask for help—whether it’s from my husband, family, or friends. Trying to do everything on your own is exhausting, and having support makes all the difference. I also lean on routines that create structure for both my kids and myself, like consistent morning and bedtime rituals, meal prepping when I can, and carving out small pockets of time for self-care. It’s not about doing everything perfectly—it’s about creating balance so I can show up fully, both as a mom and as a therapist.

What inspired you to become a therapist, and what made you decide to specialize in the kinds of issues The Phillips Clinic focuses on (young families, transitions, relational stress, etc.)?

I was originally working in marketing and events, but I’ve always felt a pull toward helping others on a deeper, more personal level. Going back to school had been a dream of mine for years, and when my youngest child started school full-time, I realized it was the perfect moment to pursue it. Becoming a therapist has allowed me to combine my love for supporting others with my own life experience as a mom. I know firsthand how challenging motherhood can be, especially in today’s fast-paced world, and I feel deeply fulfilled helping young families navigate transitions, relational stress, and the many ups and downs of life, so they can feel more confident and be their best selves.

What is the vision or mission of The Phillips Clinic, and what’s unique about the care you provide?

The Phillips Clinic is all about supporting families through life’s transitions, especially around pregnancy and early parenthood. We offer compassionate, personalized care for moms, dads, and families facing anxiety, stress, or relational challenges. What makes us unique is our combination of evidence-based approaches with a truly empathetic, supportive environment—helping families feel empowered, understood, and stronger together.

How do you believe community plays a role in healing—especially for moms?

Having a strong support system—whether it’s family, friends, or other parents—can make all the difference in navigating the challenges of motherhood. Building your “village” provides not just practical help, but also emotional support, connection, and reassurance that you’re not alone. Healing and growth happen more easily when we share our experiences and lean on one another.

What advice would you give a mom who’s been struggling but feels hesitant to reach out for help?

I would tell her that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Motherhood can be overwhelming, and no one is meant to do it alone. Start by reaching out to someone you trust and taking small steps toward building your support system. Even just sharing how you feel can be incredibly relieving. Remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out, and seeking help is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself and your family.

What’s your favorite self-care ritual when you need to reset?

When I need to reset, I love baking to slow down and get creative, or tennis to move my body and clear my mind. Both help me recharge and show up fully for my family and clients.

If you weren’t doing this work, what might you be doing instead?

If I weren’t a therapist, I’d probably be painting—I love getting lost in oil paints and letting my creativity flow. It’s my favorite way to relax and recharge!
