The Murray Center for Behavioral Wellness | Helping Kids Say “Worry Shmurray!” with a Fun Way to Tackle Anxiety - Birmingham Bloomfield Hills Moms

Why “Worry Shmurray” is Different

“Worry Shmurray” is a welcoming skill-building group where kids learn to handle worries like pros with humor, tools, and support. We believe learning about anxiety doesn’t have to feel heavy or boring- doesn’t the anxiety feel too much like that to begin with?! That’s why our program is packed with games, activities, and movement that make it easy for kids to explore their emotions in a safe, fun environment.

Here’s what your child will learn:

During this course, your child will improve their happiness, self-confidence and their relationships at home and at school by learning:

  • What Anxiety Is: How it affects their thoughts, feelings, and bodies.
  • How to Recognize Worry: In themselves and in others.
  • Strategies for Success: Simple tools to calm anxious moments and boost confidence.

Let’s face it—worry happens. Whether it’s a big test, trying something new, or dealing with life’s everyday ups and downs, kids can feel overwhelmed by anxious thoughts. And as parents, it can be tough to know how to help them sort through those feelings. That’s where our new program, “Worry Shmurray,” comes in!

Designed for kids ages 7–11, this interactive in-person course helps kids understand what anxiety is, how it shows up, and—most importantly—what they can do about it. And don’t worry, parents, we’ve got something for you too! Because worry happens – we just don’t let it run the show!

It’s all about making big feelings more manageable—because understanding emotions is one of the most important skills kids can learn!

Parents, We’ve Got Your Back

We know you want to help your child navigate anxiety, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. The course kicks off with a free parent-only session on January 27th, where we’ll share tips for creating a calmer, more peaceful home environment and for supporting your child when they’re feeling anxious.

You’ll also receive a Parenting Manual full of practical tools and strategies to keep the progress going long after the course ends.
